When donors give through your DonorDock giving page, they can designate their gift as "In Honor Of" or "In Memory Of" someone. They enter the honoree's name and, optionally, a notification recipient. DonorDock records all tribute details on the gift record and can send an automatic notification to the family or honoree.
Some donors prefer to give quietly. DonorDock lets donors mark their gift as anonymous during checkout. The donation is still tracked internally for receipting and reporting, but the donor's name is hidden from public-facing displays like campaign thermometers or donor walls.
Run reports on all memorial and honorarium gifts to see which tributes have been made, the total amounts, and which notifications have been sent. This is helpful for acknowledging families during year-end giving statements and for identifying tribute-focused fundraising opportunities.

Can donors specify who should be notified about a tribute gift?
Yes. Donors can enter a name and email or mailing address for the notification recipient. DonorDock sends the notification automatically.
Are anonymous gifts still tracked in my database?
Yes. Anonymous gifts are fully recorded for internal use — receipting, reporting, and stewardship. The anonymity applies only to public displays.
Can I run a tribute-focused fundraising campaign?
Absolutely. Create a giving page specifically for memorial or honorarium gifts, and promote it around holidays, anniversaries, or memorial events.
