Frequently asked questions
Can DonorDock run a United Way's workplace giving campaign?
Yes, for the donor and pledge side of your campaign. Set up each workplace campaign as an Appeal under your annual Campaign, add the employer as an organization contact, and link its employees to it. Each workplace can get its own branded Giving Page, and reports roll up from each workplace to your campaign total.
When a payroll remittance arrives, gift batch entry pre-fills the campaign, fund, and date as you enter each payment. Connect each payment to the employee's pledge, and the Pledge Balances report shows what's still owed. DonorDock does not process payroll deductions or host an employee pledge portal.
How does DonorDock handle donor designations to partner agencies?
Designations work through Funds. Create a fund for each partner agency or impact area, and every gift, pledge, and Giving Page donation can carry its fund, campaign, and appeal. Donors can pick a fund themselves when you turn on designations for a Giving Page, and Gift Reports filter by fund for totals.
DonorDock tracks what donors designated. It does not run allocations or grants out to agencies, so you'll keep handling those payments in your accounting or grants system. If that's QuickBooks Online, the integration can sync gifts there.
Can we track leadership giving societies in DonorDock?
Yes. Mark leadership society members with a badge or custom field, then run a report on that badge or save them to a marketing list for recognition and stewardship. Move leadership asks through Ask Board stages, and assign each donor an owner so Smart Nudges and follow-up tasks land on the right person's Action Board.
Once you start them, prebuilt journeys for mid-level and major donors send the thank-you and set the next task for you.
How much does DonorDock cost for a United Way?
DonorDock is one plan: $500 a month, billed annually, plus a one-time $3,800 premium onboarding with guided human support. Every feature and unlimited contacts are included, with no long-term contracts and a 90-day money-back guarantee.
Online donations through DonorDock Giving Pages carry a 2% platform fee, plus Stripe or PayPal processing. Extra users, emails, text credits, and automations are available as add-ons. United Ways get the same plan and price as every other nonprofit.
How hard is it to switch to DonorDock from Andar or another system?
Not hard. DonorDock's white-glove migration typically takes under a week. A real person reviews your export and maps it with you, and contacts, gifts, activities, and pledges come over with their history.
Plan the move for the quieter months after campaign close, so new pledges and payment schedules start fresh in DonorDock. If you're weighing options, our DonorDock vs Andar comparison walks through the differences.
Can DonorDock track Day of Caring volunteers?
Yes. Log Volunteer activities with hours on each person's record, so volunteers and donors live in one place, and run Volunteer Reports to share totals with your board and partners. Event Attendance activities record who came to your campaign kickoff or Day of Caring.
DonorDock doesn't schedule volunteer shifts. If you use Golden or POINT for sign-ups, their integrations bring volunteer information into DonorDock.
