You may remember our last release took a considerable amount of time to arrive, but included a substantial update to the DonorDock System Layout, along with several setting and form updates.
Since the rollout of that last release, our primary focus has been to improve those enhancements even further, ensuring we fix all of the bugs and give you, our loyal customer, the most enjoyable user experience possible!
One improvement we’d like to draw attention to is an update to the slide out forms in which we made them larger and not as compressed. You can now see more and scroll less! (I’m a poet and didn’t even know it.)
Along with reflecting and improving on our last release enhancements, we’ve also been moving and shaking on other, new updates to share with you (though on a bit of a smaller scale). While the updates can’t be categorized into a single bucket, I have say it’s beautifully random.
Below is some really cool stuff that has been released, or that you can expect to be released within the next few weeks.
The request for the Ability to Send an Email Template to one (1) Donor will soon move from the #1 requested item on the Feature UpVote board to DONE. Yep, that’s right! You will now be able to send any of the saved email templates to individual contacts in DonorDock.
You can create your email activity from the individual record, the quick add form, or the Action Board. The only change is that you will simply enable the “Use a Template” toggle, choose your template, and send it!
Happy Anniversaries, Happy Birthdays, Well Wishes and Thank You’s can be communicated through professional templates and got a whole lot easier to send off in a personal way!
That’s not all we’ll be closing from the UpVote Board….
While not upvoted as much as the one-off email templates, the Ability to Customize or Remove the Salutation of Dear has been highly requested. We have published this enhancement and feel we have taken it to a place even better than imagined.
Within the Organization Settings, under Feature Settings, you now have the option to set the default or create a custom salutation prefix AND the option to set the default Addressee or use a Custom Addressee Prefix.

As you know, there is a global setting to set the receipt sender. However, we understand the importance of sending receipts from particular users depending on their role in the organization.
To make this easier to accomplish, you can now specify the sender of receipts for particular receipt templates or for contribution statements.
From the Template Manger, load the Template Type as Receipt, choose a template and simply select the user you want the particular Receipt Template to come from.
Once you’ve made all of your necessary updates, you can save and use this to communicate with your Donors.
If you choose to not specify the sender, this will default to the global settings receipt sender.
It has long been a goal of ours to improve the DonorDock Online Giving features for a more customized experience and we are making progress on reaching that goal!
In this blog I have saved the biggest enhancements for last. I can’t say "best" because I truly believe all of the enhancements are “the best” in their own way and for different reasons.
Anyway, I digress…..
I will briefly give you a taste of what to expect in the next few weeks. So be on the lookout!
Some enhancements will include the ability to:
· Specify if you want to create an Online Giving Page for an appeal
· Allow Donors to cover credit card processing fees so more money is going directly your organization/cause
· Enable pre-set gift size options to encourage specific donation amounts
· Allow fund designations on the giving forms, letting customers choose where they want their donation to be applied
· Set the transaction type on appeal giving page for flexibility to create a donation, event ticket, or membership from the form
· Set a required gift amount for specific gifts (such as sponsorships, etc.)
